  1. you aren't kidding about Toyota PS pumps being durable! the rack leaked in my rusty old tundra (input shaft). and I stopped adding fluid to keep the driveway clean. drove it with manual steering for about 15k miles (a year) and the pump never locked up! before I junked the truck I poured some fluid in and it still worked, but it leaked out in 5 miles. durable pump for sure.
