  1. ​ @21Piloteer  plus AMD would have to pay someone to go to a junkyard and spend hours tearing apart the dash of another car and opening the HVAC box to retrieve that part. No junkyard is going to simply sell you that one plastic part. They will sell the entire HVAC box and it isn't going to be cheap.

I remember working in an Acura and Volvo dealership, we had MANY cars come in where kids would fill the CD changer slot in the dash with their parents spare change and the parents wouldnct know.... Car would come in for warranty work and wecd have to give them the unfortunate news that someone stick a bunch of change into the mechanism and ruined it. Turns expensive real fast.

  3. Working at a dealer I remember a few cases of kids filling the CD or DVD slot on new Volvos and Acuras with spare change or business cards while the parents ran into the house or something... Gets real expensive when that unit is a single slot 6 CD changer on a brand new car! Kids stay in the back, and don't leave them unattended in a car anyways... If they have time to do that (put like 20 coins in the nav unit) they've obviously been unsupervised for quite a while....
