  1. My former girlfriend spent a long time becoming a high level (!) reiki practitioner. She tried to treat me once. She "scanned me first and did indeed appear to pick up on a long-term ankle injury I'd never disclosed, while missing out on other long term things. She did her woo for about an hour to absolutely no effect. I trust her honesty completely and she claims that horse respond just like humans, so when she strokes their aura (not physically touching them) they all let out a sigh of pleasure. My question is, should I report her to animal welfare for horse fondling?

  4. Language is a needlessly complicated dog's dinner. It needs re-inventing. Especially English, and its spellings. It does not need need specific versions of every word to cope with every possible situation. What's the group imperative for when somebody is outside on a Tuesday and they are in a playful mood? That doesn't need to be expressable in a single word. If those additional details are important; and they almost never are, we clarify with extra words.

  5.  @nathanielarterberry  The rules of Latin were not a natural evolution to my inexperienced eye - they appear wilfully created. But I do get your broader point. Even Latin has elements that evolved I expect.
