@animalsarebeautifulpeople3094 I think that changes have to be started by the people and enacted by governents. In the UK, almost every type of animal cruelty is outlawed, except when it comes to halal meat, where animals are slaughtered in the most brutal way possible. That's a disgrace and if more British people knew about that, I suspect there would be a movement to prevent such disgusting practices. But politcians are not interested in alienating muslims unless there is political capital in doing so.

The west has unprecedented levels of wealth, and it's sucked up by a vampiric 1% who use it to ensure that they are free to continue polluting whilst the rest of us have to go through our rubbish sorting it to save resources. All wealth does is pay for liars like you who mislead the population. And population control is vital. As you already pointed out, vast swathes of the population is starving, whilst the wealthy nations use their land to grow foodstuffs for entertainment and biofuels. Soy, rapeseed, coconut, even rice - valuable foodstuffs are stolen by a west that is willing to pay, depriving them of food. And resources do NOT grow exponentuially as people do, you fucking dolts. One woman can increase her ecological footprint by ten fold in ten years simply by having a child a year. Where do you think you'll get the land from for a tenfold increase in food production? Even by the most optimistic estimates, production cannot be increased that rapidly. And if you DO manage that, what about the tenfold rise in greenhouse emissions? You talk about capitalism funding better technology, and you show images of dams and windfarms, but the truth is, the oil industry has a strangle hold over the biggest CO2 producer on the planet, not onlly receiving unneeded subsidies, but actively imposing tarrifs on green energy such as solar. The level of suicidally moronic stupidity displayed by most of the commenters on this video below me, is depressing. You can SEE the planet self destructing - raging fires in California and Australia, increases in scale and frequency of hurricanes, rising sea levels and melting icebergs, global mean temperatures rising at unprecedented rates, and you STILL have the fucking ignorance to attack a girl who is trying to save your stupid lives? I hope you are all the first to choke if it happens.

@RocketmanRockyMatrix The vast majority of scientists who are qualified to speak on the matter, agree that man made climate change is real. The fact that there are a few who disagree is irrelevant. There were plenty of paid shills who said that smoking was healthy, drinking radium was good for you, and that vaccines cause autism. Assuming we do not turn the earth into a greenhouse like Venus, ice ages will ALWAYS return due to the milankovich cycles. The theory you're referring to was called global dimming IIR. However, that theory was NEVER generally accepted as global warming is. Actually the USA is the largest producer of CO2 per CAPITA is the USA. China is 7th (less than half that of the USA) and India is 13th. And China just planted a nillion to trees to help offset their carbon footprint whilst the USA continues to cut them down. Question, if your house was on fire and I ran in and screamed, "Your house is on fire get out!" then I picked up some of your kids and pets and carried them out, would that make me a fascist, because that's kind of what you are doing here.

@RocketmanRockyMatrix "scare tactics" Your metaphorical house is on fire, people are shouting "your house is on fire" and you're dismissing it as scare tactics. How much more evidence do you need before you take it seriously?! The science says an increase of x amount of of CO2 raises the atmosphere by x amount. That can be tested in a lab and confirmed. The gobal climate trend is upwards and human impact on that can be demonstrated. The science says if the temperature goes up this many degrees, we will start to see x and y weather conditions and at more extreme levels and we have seen that happen with larger, more frequent hurricans, droughts and floods. You've clearly made up your mind AGAINST the science. You are emotionally attached to your position and seem incapable of impartiality in spite of your attempts to project an impartial assessment. Maybe you are irritated that Scump lost in your state, so you dismiss all info from the left. That seems like dismissing maths because you once had a bad maths teacher. You seem mildly more sane than most of the outright loons on this video, but if you genuinely strive for honest impartiality, you need to seriously reevaluate your reasons for mistrust of the science.

Yet the global population contiunues to rise. Given that there are finite resources on the planet, as long as the birth rate creates a significant upwards trend in population numbers, do you not think that it ought to be considered?

@ivankrushensky No, it's not food for thought at all. It's as rational as saying "The more wealth I have, the happier I am, therefore why do I not murder my children and save hundreds of thousands of dollars?" Improving the quality and duration of the lives of the people already alive is a totally different issue than whether we should continue to increase the number of people at the same rate. You are right of course, that it is the birth rate of developing nations that is increasing the population, and this otherwise nonsensical video is correct, that greater wealth decreases birthrates, so that is one solution that everyone can get behind.

@ivankrushensky I have no idea why you've switched a discussion about the population impact on climate change onto one about universal health care. You tried inappropriately to correlate birth control with providing health care to people who would have died previously. It was a silly correlation and now you're flailing, trying explain how universal healthcare means state enforced life extension,, which is even more silly, given that the rest of the world ALREADY has universal health care and does not force its elderly to keep living. You're done. Do what your namesake should have done 15 years ago and leave gracefully.
