Never gonna happen in a billion years. FAR too expensive to use, prices vary too wildly, no governing body to protect users, and international finance hates it.

@unlockwithjsr How can it possibly be freedom when the creator is hidden and unaccountable, prices are controlled by factors beyond your sight OR ability to predict, and you have to pay vast amounts simply to use it?

@daniellegler4011 Desirability drives value. Scarcity is just a secondary mechanism. But the average person needs dependability more than value. That's why don't all take our monthly salary to the casino.

@lm10_dxz91 Time will tell. I personally expect it all to come crashing down one day. There's no accountability. No supervisory body. People who get into ponzi schemes early often make a killing. Just ask the people who made millios on Game share trading (not a ponzi scheme I know). This feels to me like ponzi on a global scale. Popularity does not determine integrity or stability.

@sluggo3slug I know what it's claimed to be. I also know that the FBI recently managed to hack several million dollars worth from those ransomware guys. I know it's not as secure as it's claimed to be.

@lm10_dxz91 That was hilarious. You start by telling me how naive I am, the going on to talk about similar currencies that did indeed fail. And even though you tell me that there was accountability, you still can;t tell me with certainty who even CREATED bitcoin, let alone how you know he isn't siphoning from every single transaction. Given the fcat that the core code is ultimately controlled by a small group of people, it's susceptible to hacking, influence, and coercion. Tens of millions of people would have bet their fortunes that America could never move to the brink of fascism in just 5 years, with tens of millions of people unable to tell fiction from reality, so please, spare me your faith in the system.
