  8.  @gww5385  "Why should that make you unhappy Mat?" because diseases that formerly ravaged the western world were virtually eradicated are now making a resurgence thanks to stupid parents. Not every child has the luxury of being vaccinated, and even those that can but are not should not have their lives endangered by ignorant, clueless parents. The good of society at large should NOT be a matter of personal choice in this instance.

The population is also 4x as high as it was in 1955 so talking about hundreds of millions of cases is meaningless. That's enough basic education for you - I don't want to catch your stupiditis.

But let me put it this way - if a newly discovered snake in the cobra family bites your child and your child will die, would your prefer to risk an existing cobra anti-venom, or watch your child die? Similar situation. The underlying technology here is not new, but some of the specific formulations are. This is a lesser of two evils situation. It could turn out in the future that we DID put too much faith in big pharma to solve this problem and we'll all develop some terminal condition. Right now, I am doing my part for the people in my community and my family against a virus that is unquestionably killing people in the millions, and I can only hope that everything is on the level.

I'm guessing you're more selfish and could care less how your actions affect others." I'm assuming you deleted it, because you realised that it was an overreach on your behalf. But to clarify, I don't buy games whose publishers are exploitative of their staff, I don't shop from Amazon or China because of their behaviour, I recycle, I use low power equipment where possible, ride a motorcycle rather than a car, and I absolutely, take actions, including getting vaccinated, in the interests of my fellow man. I am not concerned with my own mortality regarding covid, but I would not want harm anyone else, or contribute to the stress hospital staff are already under. I'm far from perfect - I can't stop eating meat for instance, but I try to live ethically.
