Comments by "Mat Broomfield" (@matbroomfield) on "Julian Assange: Wikileaks founder extradition to US blocked by UK judge - BBC News" video.
Why was he in jail in the FIRST place? He had committed no demonstrable crime against British law.

You never had the freedom to be a traitor.

Nuked the twin towers? Ha ha ha. Try again.

It's high time Britain stopped trying to act as a vassal state to the USA. Bozo's tongue up Trump's rear was a national embarrassment, but now that Bozo has his OWN problems, hopefully he'll be more focussed on his OWN citizens.

Agree absolutely. I always felt that Assange had crossed that line. Moreover, I would say that somebody who is not privvy to the situation on the ground may not even be aware of the dangers that they are exposing troops and agents to, OR the way that their actions play into the political machinations of enemy forces. But it feels like an impossible balance to get right. The government will always demand secrecy for their war crimes or dishonesty. Whistle blowers are a vital component of a civilised and moral society, yet paradoxically, they cannot be legitimised or rewarded because it opens the floodgates to ordinary citizens making judgements on issues way above their pay grades.

@juliorosa9857 I agree. It's appalling, but then justice has always been the first sacrifice to expedience.

@juliorosa9857 I have mixed feelings Julio. I am interested in justice, and that takes however long it takes. Very often it is the DEFENDANTS' lawyers who slow the system up as they need time to gather evidence to mount a defence. Given that these cases are not usually brought before the prosecution already has its ducks in a row, for obvious reasons, I don't know that the innocent would be served by hastening the process. Or do you see something that I do not?

@abymodayil Nonsense. There's been TONS of news about Assange, and the very existence of THIS video undermines your argument.

@Kpopzoom Ignoring the lunacy of detonating a nuclear bomb in your own capiital, and the likelihood that you are insufficiently educated (no insult) to comprehend the significance of these values, even IF true, the whole "radioactive residue" theory has long been debunked. Why can you not accept the far more likely, and evidentially supported fact, that some anti-American terrorists targeted the greatest symbols of American power and capitalism in the world?

@Kpopzoom Citations please?

@hoodaticus I don't see France that way at all. They have been bickering militarily with us for centuries, colluded with Germany during WW2, and seem to my limited knowledge, to have been an economic adversary in Europe for some time. Since Macron took over, their oppositional stance has only hardened. America and Britain were united by a common language, and our naval power and mid-distance to Russia makes us useful idiots allies for America, and we are still the 5th largest economy on the planet. I don't think that America is under any illusions about us.
1
@hoodaticus Not only that, but when he became a political actor against Hillary Clinton, he crossed the line and frankly became an enemy of the planet. Whistle blowers are supposed to be interested only in truth and public interest, not choosing winners or losers in national elections.
