  1. I think it's incredibly arrogant and selfish of doctors to save suiciders. Regardless of your moral beliefs, if this woman was so desperate to end her life that she shot herself in the face with a shotgun, she should have been put out of her misery. There's a difference between talking someone down from the attempt, and saving someone who has made a massively destructive attempt. This is the epitome of people imposing themselves on others. Moreover, tax payers or insurance payers or her parents have been burdened with hundreds of thousands, if not millions of pounds worth of needless expenses. Think of all the cancer patients or sick kids that money could have helped.

  2. It's sad, and I would do everything in my power to talk her down, but once she's blown her entire face off, you're not saving her - you're sentencing her to a life of misery.

  3. I'm not judging her - I'm giving her the respect of honouring her wishes. And I'm not talking about executing her NOW for goodness sakes! But I AM saying that given the choice between saving one teenager who makes a decision to end her life, or saving hundreds of innocent people, there's no contest.
