  1. There's a significant difference between misusing an obscure Indian symbol, and using a name that it well within all living memory, still steeped in racist connotations. It would be as though a US party used the confederate flag - some things come with too much sub text. TBH, I'm not sure that FRench people would have picked up on the National Front reference, if indeed that's what it was, but you know, the general principle.
