@neiluk4109 Yeah, I knew about thew weight but it's very easy to overlook when you go swimming because it seems so yielding. "The sights in the news report are awful to watch." yes, totally agree. Having their lives torn apart like that. Poor sods.

@AmazinglyAwkward Most of the buildings in this video, and indeed many that were destroyed during the British floods, predate construction companies. When modern companies get permission to build on flood plains, it's granted on the basis of 1 in 50 or 100 year floods. Trouble is, the climate is changing so rapidly that they have now become 1 in 5 or 10 year floods. Personally, even 1 in 100 is not a risk I'd want to take with a quarter of a million pounds but still...
