Do me a favour! They weren't all driving around in BMWs before! They have been dirt farmers living below subsistence level forever, and the Taliban is at least partly responsible, along with their unfortunate geography.

I suggest you look up bacha bazi, the boy sex slaves who were a traditional part of Afghani warlord culture. I suggest you look up opium cultivation which was a widespread part of their culture. I suggest you look up terrorist training camps which were dotted across the nation. SOME Afghani's had "freedom" but the vast majority lived in the shadow of these evil pigs. To say "at least it was drug free" is like cutting off a junkie's hands and chaining him to wall then saying "well at least he's drug free."
