Black people massively enriched the UK, as did Indians and others. Britain would be in deep trouble without Indian medical professionals, and black invited immigrants helped rebuild after WW2.

Alligator Perhaps if we didn't keep enriching their countries to make rich oil barons and weapon manufacturers more money that they don't need, there wouldn't be so many here.

@61shirley "how did we ever survive A thousand years without Indian Drs?" We didn't. Our average livespan was 45. Of course, many other things have contributed to almost double our lifespans. The better question should be "Why don't we treat healthcare workers well enough that we NEED INdian doctors?"

Britain; the west has destabilised their nations, stolen their mineral wealth and brought about numerous additional wars, all under the pretext of protecting the innocent (Kuwait, Iraq, Syria and Serbia). These are demonstrably factual events, as was Britain's empire building across the globe for centuries.

Alligator "We" has multiple meanings. You chose to include yourself in that set, I meant it to be "We the nation" I could have been clearer. You could have been less defensive. I'd be the first to argue against white guilt. Britain the nation is responsible for many ills. To some extent the electorate is responsible for the actions of the people its raises to power. Clearly, someone who was not even born during the age of colonialism has no responsibility for the actions perpetrated by an elite minority a century before his birth. You ARE responsible for the choices YOU make. "who will now suffer the consequences of a multicultural society. " and who also benefit from it. Much of the infrastructure of Britain was built by immigrants. A large part of our healthcare system is staffed by them. A lot of our lowest paying jobs are taken up by them. "I do not accept your white guilt" None is offered. Any guilt you detect is coming from your own brain.

Believe it or not, not everyone works in order to earn the highest income AND it may be a condition of their immigration AND medical training that they use their skills in the NHS. That said, I don't blame anyone who is not atruistic enough to want to go live and work in a 3rd world nation. That's what they were emmigrating to get away from!

@ewanhill677 I never disputed that the majority of UK healthcare staff are British. I DID say "Britain would be in deep trouble without Indian medical professionals,". You claimed that statement was delusional. Losing 20% of your medical staff, when you are already desperately understaffed would be a disaster. As for foreign doctors being "much more likely to be investigated for incompetence and medical negligence", quantify "much". An increase from .0001% to .0013% is 13x more but still inconsequential. Also, investigation and actual wrongdoing are two completely different issues.
