You'll forgive me if I evaluate the accuracy of the rest of your comment with a degree of skepticism. Nevertheless, it's hardly a surprise if the most violence occurs where the most people live. I'd be more interested in a per capita analysis. All of this said, I have no dog in this race. It would be nice to think that rural folk were nicer. It's not been my experience, but my experience is not extensive. The fact is, the vast majority of Americans live in heavily populated areas, so for them, the danger of gun violence is real, if not constant. Given that there are more guns than people, I think that danger is well founded.

@EvilAndy-os6bz I very much doubt it - they're just far less densely situated. This is deeply ingrained into American culture.

@kkandola9072 Plenty of US citizens have been killed at work - in the postal service especially, and most recently at the Atlanta spa shootings. I would say I probably have at least as good a grip on the issue as you do. The US is an insecure nation with a tiny metaphorical penis, that was once bullied and now lashes out screaming "never again." The US population are the yappy dogs ranting about "muh freedom to bear arms" and "muh freedom to defend against a tyrannical government", too dumb to realise that they would have no chance in the latter case, and the "freedom" they bleat about kills tens of thousands of them every year - far more than have been saved from muggings or assaults. Morevover, that entire refrain only became popular when weapon manufacturers started paying the NRA in the 50s to make it an issue. Now a small but vocal minority has been trained like Pavlovian dogs to react strongly to even the most milquetoast attempt to impose reasonable gun restrictions. Did I miss anything?

@sebastianguerre6868 The Conservatives - centrist?!!! ROFL. This is the party that appealled repeatedly to the most xenophobic elements of British society to trick them into acrimoniously leaving the EU against their best interests, so that the millionaires could escape regulation. I agree that the Overton window has shiifted towards the right, with Labour no longer being the party of the working man, and men of the people like Corbyn getting smeared and cock-blocked. I disagree with your concluding sentiment on democracy. I would cancel democracy in an instant given an opportunity. Democracy allows the stupid, the hateful and the ill informed to have the same seat at the table as the well informed and altruistic. Worse still, it allows the wealthy to determine policy. It's an appalling system.

@breathingviolatestermsofse9915 I have no idea which comment you're referring to but are you aware that youtube has automated heuristic comment deleting algorithms? I get hit by it all the time. There are key phrases that will get you deleted every time. It's like having damned Amish aunt standing over your shoulder constantly wagging her finger.
