@adambell3136 Coalitions of leaders are FAR less likely to want a nuclear war than nations run by demagogues such as America, China, Russia or Israel. Trump wanted to launch nukes to disrupt hurricanes FFS, and he asked repeated why he couldn't use nukes in military sitiations. Of course ANY nuclear proliferation makes nuclear war more likely in that more nukes exist, but there is a compelling argument that having them, disincentivises other nuclear nations from deploying them. Against that background, the only reason that unity in the west would incite war, is if China or Russia are ruled by insecure lunatics who would destroy the planet over their pathetic egos. Winnie the Poo is close, but Trump is so far the only one that fits into that category. The others all place self preservation over pyrric victories.

@Gabzerelli5 Why should the two things be mutuatlly exclusive? I am against a non-elected Euroean mega state, but I care very much about the wellbeing of my European and global neighbours.

@matt8989a I don't think that's a possibility, even if doing so was really sensible. I think the best way to deal with China is to make democracy more attractive to them.

The fact that you don't even comprehend why European unity strengthens Europe, you're too ill educated to have a grown up conversation, or is your memory too feeble to remember the last time most of Europe came together against a common foe?
