Right now they are in the midst of selling us out to the child president of USA, whilst breaking aliances with nations more stable and more useful. Like most governments, the UK govt is interested primarily in furtherance of its own power, and the enrichment of its members. Nothing else.

  5.  @lukesalvidge5451  It's an incredibly fraught business to interfere in the actions of ANY nation. One of the most sacrosanct standards of international justice is sovereignty. As soon as you start infringinging upon that because you don't like their internal behaviour, you are on murky ground. Afghanistan, Palestine, Iraq, Syria, and Iran are justice SOME of the examples of where we have gotten it disastrously wrong. And that's not counting the shifting vagaries of what ARE crimes against humanity. I'd love a world in which rogue nations are held to account, but looking at the world right now, the most powerful nations are all LEAD by rogue leaders. Bolsanaro, Trump, Erdogan, Putin, Jinping - I wouldn't trust ANY of them to act with restraint of integrity.
