Ever fascinating. I wish taht they could get down there and document every last screw before it is lost forever. Sadly it has already decayed past the point where much can be gleaned. The technology to reach it came far too late.

Yeah, and you know, the Romans, and Egyptians and the Founding Fathers right. All just a con job to promote tourism, and not like, you know, some of the most important historical events in the existance of mankind.

Not at all true. The two boats that got lost in the Northwest passage are probably talked about more than the titanic of late, and they are constantly talking about new wrecks. But obviously, it was the human backstory that made the Titanic so especially compelling.

@Mythbuster3808 Right. "People who forget the lessons of hostory are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past". The Titanic is far from romanticised - it's a horror story about the consequences of avarice and the arrogance of the wealthy valueing their lives above those of everyone else. A lesson incidentally, with the corporate pdestruction of our planet that we should remember right now.

It told us about the dangers of avarice, the dangers of putting profit ahead of lives, it told us about the way it sank, it contains the laast echoes of the people who died on it. It has a lot to say if you care to listen.

@Mythbuster3808 The final blow is the petulance of Scump, the greed of big business, the self-serving of the Republicans and the cowardice of the Dems.

@edibleresource7753 What the fuck are you babbling about? The people in steerage were locked below decks like animals and not even released when the ship was sinking. It's an EXACT analogy for the arrogance of the wealthy today who buy politicians and feel at liberty to destroy the planet for another buck. Back then the working class were treated like vermin, and they're treated like vermin now. It IS politics because it's ALWAYS politics. In a democracy, there would be rules the prevented such things. As a result of the Titanic, the rules regarding having to carry enough lifeboats changed and it's as well that you deleted your other demented post claiming that there were enough lifeboats. You idiots who think you've somehow revealed the conspiracy that the world's scientists and historians are pathetic - a massive over faith in your own intelligence.
