Racism never died away. Only someone who does not suffer from it could be so clueless.

Interesting that the black woman speaks more sense on this than the white woman. White guilt feels to me like just the latest fad by white people, who next year will be toying with trans guilt, or another diet, or Islamic guilt. Ensuring that black students (or ANY poor kids) receive a fair educational opportunity should be the goal of all society, so even though I think Phoebe's motivation is moronic, at least her choice of action provides the greatest chance of benefit.

But the present for black people continues to be determined by the past.

Strong Black Panther Not the same at all. There are no people living who were slaves, nor anyone within 2 generations of it. The native Americans are STILL being ripped off. The Japanese are STILL suffering because of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. The recipients of holocaust reparations were literally the ones who suffered. I'm all for helping black people to overcome the historic challenges that resulted from slavery, but simply throwing money at them is a bad idea.

@stray dog7 Your answer bears no relationship to anything I posted and I was not lecturing you.

@firstnamett4656 There is definitely anti-white racism, as well as undeserved white guilt. The big difference is, black people are genuinely suffering from racism in almost every area of their lives, whereas racism against whites so far as I can see amounts to nothing more than very mild levels of butt hurt. Blacks on the other hand are killed at a far higher rate by cops, less likely to get jobs, more likely to be sent to prison, more likely to experience life changing prejudice, and are still collectively poorer as a result of racism still being practiced by senators today.
