Academic stress is one of the leading causes of suicide in the western world. Societies pressuring kids to succeed for careers that will probably not even exist in 20 years.

@fivegoldstar6811 Yes, it probaby is. I was just making the point. That said, the East piles FAR more academic pressure onto its youth than the west. It's a sickening cultural phenomenon that places wealth, status and success above happiness.

@woxineaucrows7355 They may contribute, but the lack of family doesn't seem to be the problem in these cases and one of the mothers talked about the pressure of school.

@anitaa5514 The west uis not \t all chill. Constant tests; 11 plus, sat, gcses , a level, degrees, college, university. The west is extremely pressured.
