Dyson ventilators just ignored? So they went out of their way to help and they've simply been discarded? That seems like a guaranteed way to alienate future helpers. And are there no other nations that need their help?

Shocking no, devastating yes, as those businesses have to continue paying their bills. It could be the death of the high street. Will you enjoy having to buy all your stuff from Chinese and Asian businesses on ebay?

@TonyHavenMusic THere was nothing natural about the murder of high street stores - it was greed pure and simple. For most people, travelling to an out of town retail park is not more convenient, but chains with the buying power to set their own purchase prices slaughtered the high street, and short-sighted property owners magnified the situation by INCREASING rents just when town retail was less desirable. Local councils who never saw the winds blowing continued increasing rates and that has been the straw that has broken camel's back. And all of that ignores the MASSIVE impact of online retail.

@juice6521 I found her citation - the UK independent. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/coronavirus-us-new-york-hospital-ventilator-death-rate-latest-a9479411.html HOWEVER, the statistic applies ONLY to people on ventillators in New York, and for contrast, 80% of ALL patients put on ventillators die. As I suggested, it's the seriousness of people's condition BEFORE being put on ventillators that is the key factor.

@Lazarus Resurrection Ahh right, so my original points about not pissing off companies who answered your call for help in your hour of need is invalid why? And my original point about OTHER nations needing the ventillators, when the US is DESPERATE for them is invalid why? And all of that presupposes that we have seen the worst of the virus, which the health experts say we have not, and that when lockdown ends, there will not be a second spike, which they say there will be, and that there will not be a huge bounce back in winter, which they say is likely. But I'm sure that with your decades of disaster planning, virology degree and news analysis experience, you know better...
