Apart from the 2200+ lies he's told since taking office you mean? Trump has imported steel for his OWN projects from China. He's anti-American.

In fairness, the stuff from China is largely plastics and luxury goods. America is perfectly capable of manufacturing its own plastics, an d can live without luxury goods, They're too damned pampered as it is. Might do them good not to buy a new iphone every year.

The man is a moron. His speech about little smiles speaks volumes about his personal insecurity. If I make cars and you make TVs, there's always going to be a deficit between us. As long as the US does not make the goods that China provides at a cost that US citizens are willing to pay, there will be deficits. Trump looks at geopolitics with the comprehension of a child. What most irritates me is that he is right on some issues - such as reciprocity and intellectual theft, but because he approaches everything in a bombastic, ill-considered, unmeasured way, he manages to make bad situations worse. Rather than targetting specific inequities, he simply plucks a number from thin air, then tells his people "Achieve it". Can somebody please jam a pacifier in his mouth and put him to bed with a Big mac?

US business has created this rod for their own backs. By opting for built-in obsolescence, they educated the public to value low cost over quality. Then, because US workers were unwilling to work for the wages that sustained a low cost competitive market, they shipped manufacturing overseas or were supplanted by businesses where safety standards and wages were much cheaper. The greed of manufacturers and the willingness of consumers to accept this model has given Chinese low cost manufacturing this huge advantage. Don't blame the nation that fulfilled the demand, blame the greedy corporates always looking to save a cent. US consumers, get ready for a MASSIVE increase in costs. I only hope that you demand a commensurate increase in quality to compensate.
