  1. No idea if these men are guilty or innocent. Their behaviour DOES seem suspicious, but circumstantial evidence should NEVER be the sole basis for a conviction, let alone of this magnitude. But one indisputable fact DOES stand out, and that's the despicable practice of police doctoring statements retrospectively to strengthen their case. Police need to be reminded, in the strongest possible legal terms, that their duty is not to get convictions, but to ensure the safe, smooth running of society. Rewriting reality to "punish" those who have not yet been convicted of a crime is utterly unacceptable.
