We live on a planet that is bombarded with essentially unlimited sources of electricity. The idea that you cannot microwave your dinner AND boil a kettle simultaneously is ridiculous. The failure is in the nation's energy GENERATING technology, not our energy usage. The fact that our bills just doubled, and a two-bit Belarusian dictator can hold Europe to ransom is emblematic of our mismanagement of resources. More nuclear. More renewable. More energy independence.

@ivobrick7401 She said the kettle uses 3kW on its own, same for the washing machine. The idea that you can't leave a TV on standby is pathetic.

@dougaltolan3017 The "balls?" How much courage does it take to turn off a TV? 🤣🤣🤣 But if I'm in bed watching TV, then I want to go to sleep, why should I have to get up and do so, when an option exists that avoids me having to?
