There's a between journalism and revealing state secrets. If you choose the latter, then expect to pay the penalty. No man has the right for instance, to reveal the secret identities of his country's spies. The second Assange became a political actor in 2016, timing his release of selective information to cause maximum harm to one campaign, colluding to effect the election of the worst president America has ever had, and harming the entire planet in the process, he ceased to be a journalist and became the enemy. For that, I would happily pull the switch on him myself.
