  5. It's shocking how much mud is left behind. As if the water was not bad enough. It really highlights how much our planet is being reshaped every time it rains.

  6. People have been doing just fine but large parts of the planet suffer from flooding. We live on a violent planet.

  7.  @RIXRADvidz  You make a fascinating point here, but the tallest Hawaiian peak is 30,000 feet above the seafloor and 13000 feet above sea level. The plates in the area ARE spreading, but on a deep time scale. I think the modern islands are pretty secure TBH! :D
