  1. Courts HAVE to stop putting ANY faith in witness testimony. Even with the best meaning, most honest witness, memory is massively flawed, often a reconstruction based upon biases and expectations, fuelled by utterly imperfect senses, and made all-but-useless by trauma or the slightest environmental changes. Add to that an over-dependence on so called forensic sciece which is far from as robust as the credit it is given yet cannot be challenged without a huge budget and experts of similar stature. Making this story all about the woman who contributed to this incarceration, rather than the victim seems pretty low.
