  1. As an artist, I've spent a lot of time studying eyes, and they are well within the range for normal eyes. The upper and lower lids are just dark, and the edges of the iris are dark, leading to a high contrast. It's not common, but it does occur in some people. Google image "black hair blue eyes" to see examples. Not saying he doesn't wear eyeliner to create the look - just that it's not necessary.
