  1. Smith has screwed this case up royally. He's trying so hard to appear impartial that he let her walk all over him. Sick of seeing the good guys acting like goddamned wimps whilst the corrupt criminals walk all over them.

  2.  @coldblue9mm  A prosecutor's only allegiance should be to the law. He's neither trying to appease nor be vindictive towards the subject of his prosecution. Indeed, if he is believed to be so, the case can get thrown out and it can lead to an acquittal or retrial.
