Ukraine had the opportunity to join NATO; the club that would have assured them aid, but they declined. Much as I despise Russia's actions, why is it the responsibility of America or the west to spend OUR citizens' already stretched taxes and military resources aiding a nation that slapped away the hand of friendship until they were in trouble?

@robhill4352 "Either you are wholly on the side of good or you choose to support evil by letting it proceed." You have a fantastically simplistic view of geopolitics. When evil is armed with nuclear weapons, led by a think-skinned, brutal madman near the end of his life with a proven history of killing his opponents, the question is "Do you risk hundreds of thousands, or even millions of your OWN citizens, for a nation that wanted nothing to do with you until it was invaded?" Seeing this as black and white only betrays your own lack of imagination.

@robhill4352 Tell me why we don't charge into China and liberate all the oppressed people there? Or wipe out Iran Rob? Why was a war against a bunch of poorly armed dirt farmers in Aghanistan, the longest war in America's history? Because things are complicated. Rob, just admit you're basic. We can't all be 3D chess players. Just stick to chequers.
