Even by the broadest definition, America is not the oldest democracy. Any country that does not give equal weight to EVERY citizen is not a democracy. Gerrymandering, citizens united, the prevention of prisoners from voting, and more all mean that America is not a democracy at all, but given that the word comes from Ancient Greece in 450BC, it's laughable for Americans to tout the train wreck that they have as the oldest.
