The fact that Britons now pay an additional 20% of their income, in the midst of an ongoing recession, following ther disastrous Brexit, in climate change taxes is not the laudible thing you imply it is. It's an outrageous regressive tax imposed on millions of people, with no reasonable ease-in period, and no transition aid. Suddenly the very poorest people living around London have to find an extra couple of hundred dollars a week just because of their postcode.

  2.  @EuropeanWren  I would love to rejoin Europe, and much as it would be in the interests of unity, I doubt Europe would want us without a very high percentage of britons voting for it. We should never have left on such a pitiful majority.

  3.  @EuropeanWren  Over the course of 2000 years, Britain has been invaded by most of the European countries in immediate proximity. Some stayed for centuries. We're all still more than a little resentful, so yeah, if we strongly assserted our sovereignty when we were in the EU, can you blame us? Especially seeing the way that the EU handled Greece, to say nothing of the weight of Germany within the organisation. But I agree, we absolutely belong in Europe. bureaucratic as it is, we're stronger together.
