As much as I despise who they are and what they did, I still have much empathy with the fact that they believed they were trying to SAVE democracy and following the commands of the commander in chief. As long as Trump and Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity walk free, true justice will not have been served.

@rochellestarr9538 So every single protestorrioter was a white supremacist? Every single one assaulted police officers? And from their perspective, even if they DID assault them, they were attacking enemy soldiers, themselves fighting for an illegitimate government. I have sympathy for the victims not merely empathy, but I can also appreciate how people in an information dead zone could be mislead.

@gibbsncis3800 That's because you're not in that echo chamber. Imagine if Fox or OAN was your only source of news...

@mementomori7825 I disagree. I think they GENUINELY thought that this was an existential fight for the future of America.

@rochellestarr9538 When you voted in the last election, did you agree with EVERY one of your candidate's policies? Lots of people voted Trump because they thought he would restore Christianity in America. Lots of people voted Trump because they were against wokeism. Lots of people voted Trump because, despite not being racist, they objected to seeing American jobs being lost to, or crime committed by illegal immigrants. I don't agree with any of those, but I can understand that the motivations could be well-meaning. That said Rochelle, I would certainly concede that there is a large contigent of white supremacists among Trump's base, and he deliberately courted them, being a hateful bigot himself.

@rochellestarr9538 So if your choice is babies being murdered by abortion, or tolerating racism, you'd vote to murder babies? That's the way many of them see/saw that choice.
