  1. I don't understand why everyone is getting so excited. Yeah, a bit of open plan, fresh air, and free range is nice, but exposing kids largely unsupervised to danger seems ill advised. There metal edged steps, concerningly high drops, overcrowding and more. I certainly wouldn't allow my 4 year old loose in this space with the sparcity of supervision that was shown.

  2. ***** I'm quite sure that you impose limits on the places that your children can play even fairly closely supervised? Edge of a river? Near a road? I agree completely that children learn by encountering danger (and that's one of the themes throughout this video). Personally, whilst I see kids hurt every week, some badly, and am certainly not averse to all risk, I am simply concerned that this young, the potential severity is greater than the benefits to be gained.

  3. ***** I have no issue with recreation - in fact I think that the Western world is far too focussed on academic achievement. Nor am I opposed to risk, but the risk has to be  proportionate to the person's capacity to recognise and avoid it. That is what I see lacking in this facility.

  4. Seth M I agree with not mollycoddling kids, but the drop of the edge of those spiral steps looks like it was over 10 feet in places!

  5. ***** What parent would allow their  43 and 4 year old kids to play very loosely supervised near unprotected 10 foot drops? "If they fall, they'll learn" what kind of parenting is that?
