My mother is a religious zealot like this. It's truly sickening and enraging to have someone you care deeply about who is clearly utterly delusional. She's currently dying of bowel cancer because she believes Jesus is going to miraculously save her, or that he wants to take her to Eden. She can't even make up her mind which crazy story she's meant to be following. She's old, so I'm not going to try to take this crazy delusion away from her, but I will say, her Christianity has brought her 60 years of nothing but misery. A totally wasted, unfulfilled, miserable life. Sickening.

Their lawyers were 100% correct. NEVER talk to the police with representation. It's your absolute right, and the police will ABSOLUTELY lie to you, twist your words, misrepresent what you say, and far more. The irony of the policeman saying "This badge means I won't hurt you." If only that was true. If all police were like him, I would respect them more.

@ Apparently you can't read. I said "If all police were like him, I would respect them more." Clearly NOT all cops are terrible. BUT there have been numerous cases of police being called for help, then executing a family member, including a 13 year old child. And thousands of cases of them brutalising the innocent. They're an occupying force, but sometimes they are useful.

@ It's not tired rhetoric for the thousands of people brutalised by the police, or the black communities who live in fear of them. You might have the luxury of consigning their negative traits to the past so you don't have to think about them, but millions of people do not. Just ask yourself this - why do police fight so hard against wearing body cams in some jurisdictions? The only lame thing, is your ignorance of the continuing situation.

@lubskipunch8706 The policeman essentially said "I'm a policeman, that means you can trust me." To me, that was poignant. Sorry I didn't watch it in your approved way. Next time, I'll put a joker smile on my face just to keep you happy okay?
