  1. This video can be found in the dictionary under "First world problems". I'm totally down with schools banning cup cakes. For all the reasons Fugelsang highlighted. Anyone who's had to deal with even a couple of young kids who are on a sugar high knows how crazy they get. And it's not school's place to be encouraging bad eating habits.

  2. Blazar S/he's not demonising food - s/he's simple ensuring that her/his kids  don't get into bad eating habits. It's ridiculous that schools encourage this. What next, a can of coke as well?

  3. Blazar That' s not true. Kids will SOMETIMES grow up wanting things that have been deprived when they perceive that thing to be the norm and they do not perceive significant disadvantages to doing so. Which is why most kids don't grow up craving crack, but in cultures with overly prohibitive alcohol laws, it CAN be problematic. The point is, it's not the job of the school to introduce or perpetuate unhealthy habits.
