  1. ***** Which is precisely why he said  "IF robots become so human to point were we can't tell the difference". We're already way past uncanny valley in animation, and it's only a matter of time till they can do it with models too.

  2. ***** You  only get freaked out when it looks too human but not quite human - like you said, "uncanny valley". Its caused by the dissonance between your general impression of humanity, and the imperfections that make it seem not quite human. But in fairness, you get EXACTLY the same reaction when you see a human with weird skin or odd eyes, or who moves oddly. If a robot appeared COMPLETELY human in actions, appearance and communication, the uncanny valley would not apply because your subconscious would not know the difference. It's actually superficial and very easy to fool! :-)
