Erlich is so right - "Let an idiot talk for long enough and they'll put their foot in their mouth", although it only took him 5 seconds to do so. Tyson was not making an ad populum argument. He was saying that that the evidence has already been evaluated by the majority of smart people on this planet, so stop letting fucking morons get equal time. For Erlich to suggest that we should turn climate change denial into recreation is as asinine as most of the nonsense he's spouted this week, because we should be spending the time discussing solutions and educating the public, not clouding the issue so that the gullible can become even more confused.
