My contempt for people who willingly put themselves into such situations is immeasurable.

@Pezled "Without fearless adventurers you would still be living in a cave." No I wouldn't. The vast majority of humans have NEVER lived in caves, and even if we did, hiding in caves was not fearless - it would have been a logical shelter from animals and the elements. But the fcat is, there just are not that many caves. It was human INTELLIGENCE that elevated us, not foolhardy recklessness. These guys are literally, evolutionary dead ends - Darwin Awards personified.

@Pezled That was the most ridiculous analogy imaginable. Primitive people conquering fire were experimenting with one of the fundamental forces of nature, and was part of a tradition of proto-human curiosity that raised our species to the pinnacle of the evolotutionary ladder. It had immediate, tangible benefits providing heat, light and a way to repel animals. They were not on a middle-class thrill ride, pointlessly risking their lives - and the lives of others - because they had too much free time on their hands. Sport caving is reckless and moronic in the extreme, and I'm assuming from your butthurt response, that you participate.
