  26. I know white males who work for the Met, and the amount of work they have to put in to get promoted is ridiculous. One guy has been studying for a year just to go up to a a middle management position. I don't know why they do it given how unappreciated they are by their superiors and how few places there are. I bet they wish they could just whine about prejudice to increase their chances, but they have to do it the hard way - with work and ability.

They're a great band and she's an incredibly attractive woman with an amazing voice, but it sounds to me as though she's complaining that the music industry likes attractive front people. She's no more objectified than any of the boy bands that appeal to hormonal teen girls. She wears jeans and a tshirt, but I notice she still make an effort with her appearance. She recognises that her image is as much part of the music "product" as her voice and persona. Is she not listened to because she's a woman, or because she expresses opinions like the ones in this interview? I wouldn't take her seriously either.
