7 in 30 million? I'll take those odds.

@cristinapita7955 "In everything we take the precautionary approach" No we don't. We weigh the risks against the benefits. But I do accept your other points. Fair enough.

@citizen-27 I'm absolutely positive that you willingly and daily take risks thousands of times greater.

@misscandy793 no not exactly, it's silly. Your odds of dying every time you travel by car are far higher, but I'm sure it doesn't even cross your mind.

@tonywright8294 Thank you. Already had mine. Still standing. Not the slightest side effect. But you are clearly a massive asset to mankind.

@niemanddanik Yes, but when peopel get covid, they can pass it on, and fill hospitals. Not the same at all.

@cristinapita7955 Well of course Cristina - because a million people have died directly from covid, (and I can only guess at how many non covid deaths due to lack of hospital availability), 100 million have been infected, and it's constantly mutating. The usual approach to developing medication is an abundance of caution but in the midst of a global pandemic we don't have that luxury. How do you normally cross the road? At a careful pace looking both ways right? Now imagine you are half way across a highway and you see an out of control truck about to hit you from one direction - I imagine you move at a much faster pace, and even take a chance on not looking the other way before dodging it right? Same idea here.

@niemanddanik Clearly not.

@niemanddanik It's absolutely NOT the same with flu. AND the NHS pushes all vulnerable people to get vaccinated against flu EVERY YEAR. The flu is not as infectious. As for mutations, all viruses mutate. If the choice is "risk death or enable mutations" I'll enable mutations. Vaccinating does NOT accelerate mutations. You're mistaking viruses with bacteria. Mutations occur naturally. Those that can survive the vaccine get to propogate. There is no infection competition, so survival of the fittest does not apply.

@gillmay9309 If you would not have died but for covid, then covid is the cause of death and the other issues are contributory. Or vice versa I guess. Either way, you'd still be alive if not for covid and surely that's the point?
