  1. Can we PLEASE stop conflating being male, misogyny and being a sexual predator? Maleness is NOT unhealthy pers se, and even most misogynists would never dream of assaulting a woman or girl. If you want males to act as allies to women), starting by villifying all males is the antithesis of good strategy. The world is dangerous - rapists, muggers, drunks, and more lurk after dark. Running courses for aging men will not fix that, and the fact that only 4 men were present says plenty. Teaching personal safety courses for women rather than complaining that life is dangerous might help. It's not fair, but the universe doesn't care about fairness.

  2. Excellent post. And even IF rape was increasing, coming on the back of two years of lockdown, this is hardly indicative of normal times. And even if THAT was not the case, the spike of a single year is statistically insignificant. Any average will have high and low years. It's the TREND that counts. You know what they say about lies, damned lies and statistics...
