  1. I have empathy with the policeman. It was an unprecedented situation for which nobody could possibly be adequately trained. But what I find unforgivable, is the subsequent cover up and smearing of the victims and other spectators. This reminds me of the truism - "Remember, the police are not on your side."

I'm absolutely certain that that would have been the advice of his superiors, any legal representation AND the police union. I don't know what the cause of the surge was. Was it drunk and ticketless fans?

  9. +shaun fagan Actually I only voted Tory once as a teenager. Then I was a Labour voter several times. Now there's pretty much no-one that I trust to lead the country although Nigel Farage has said some things I like. But if it makes it easier for you to pigeon hole me to avoid needing a nuanced view, please fill your boots.
