@Repoocekim I agree with most of what you said except what was a direct response to what I said. Simple rule - if you can't afford children, don't have children. I don't care what the average is - if you're not paying for them, don't have them. Children are not a right.

@tomosprice8136 She's living in a poverty struck region of Wales. She could NEVER afford two children.

@vladimirputin4822 When you talk about "the state" what you actually mean, is other workers. So what you are saying is "People should be able to make shitty life choices and other workers should pick up the tab." That's more than community - that's the irresponsible stealing from the responsible. As for whatever the children become, statistically, their future will be far worse with a single parent, especially if she raises them in poverty. And I didn't answer your question because it was unlikely to matter in this case. I am all for the state providing support in exceptional circumstances. Getting bored with the father does not count as exceptional. Now I have a question for you: given that a woman can get a living income and jump to the top of the housing list simply by becoming a single mother, what's to stop tens of thousands of teenage girls getting pregnant young in order to gain their independence at everyone else's expense, and given taht the children of single parents are worse citizens, why should society reward such behaviour?
