  1. Exactly the same was said about the election of Obama and Republicans. Trump's language and behaviour has pushed an already pitiful low even lower. There was never in our lifetime such disrespect to a president as Obama and his wife endured, so I have zero sympathy for anyone on the right who whines about this shabby language now. British politics is twice as combative as American, but if any British politician ever sunk to these lows, they'd lose their right to speak.

  2. Republicans attacked Obama remorselessly for his race and his masculinity.Huckabee has the walk and body language of a 40 year old New York dock worker. That's something she consciously projects and it's fair game. He masculine features are not, but nobody on the right can have an ounce of outrage if they didn't also rail against the depiction of Michelle Obama as a gorilla and Obama as effete simply for riding a lightweight cycle.
