  1. I feel more than a modicum of sympathy for these defendants. Society is AWASH with conspiracies: the GOP's Southern strategy, McConnell's plan to stack the supreme court, the deal between the GOP to deny Americans affordable health care, the tobacco companies portraying cigarettes as healthy, climate change denial, anti-vax doctors paid by rival companies, spying on us all by the NSA, Facebook knowingly serving us lies, police coverups, and so, SOOO many more. None of us knows where we're being played and where we aren't, so the fact that they went all in on this one is borderline patriotic, but perhaps we should ALL be objecting to far more with the same conviction.
