Unfortunately labour unions became their own worst enemies. Had they simply used collective bargaining to ensure FAIR treatment for their employees, they would have retained the universal support of members. As it is, they became greedy and corrupt, and lost support from within as well as without. Add to that the corruption of politicians who sold of workers' rights to all bidders, and it's a terrible situation. The irony of workers voting in their own emperor in Trump is utterly hilarious to me. People that stupid deserve to be chatel.
