  1. I know three trans people and two of them (1 male, 1 female) are total freaks. The fact that you don't see them in the news is a matter of several things: 1. People are less willing to trust their kids around them in the first place 2. There are a tiny fraction as many of them 3. Their trans status may not be relevant to reporting on convictions I'm sorry to say this, but there is a slippery slope of non-conventionality, and once people start down it, ceasing to go along with societal norms, that can lead to deviancy. By no means am I saying all, any more than I would say all Catholic priests are pedos, but I would certainly not take the chance.
