The number of cases like this are miniscule compared to the number of drugs that can make your life better. The number of things that can fill your life with unending misery are limitless. We all take chances every day. It's hard to know which we SHOULD take and which we should not, but there's a high probability at least one thing you use every day is a carcinogen or increases cancer risk.

@GeoMeridium "taking nothing is sometimes the better option." That's undoubtedly true. However, as someone who had a heart attack in March, and now takes 7 different pills a day, I'd sooner risk taking them than dying. I looked up all the side effects before starting (which you can do for all drugs), recognised that EVERYTHING may have some side effects, then went into it with my eyes as open as they could be. The way pharma companies hide problems is the worst bit, you're right.

@AKAK-rh7lr The infuriating thing is we CAN'T trust the pharmaceutical companies to do the right thing EVER because they have to protect their bottom line. No company WANTS to release a harmful product, but once the harm is discovered, they rarely handle it well, leading to a general paranoia about ALL medications.
