  1. What qualification did Reagan have to be president John? The fact that an ordinary person can rise to lead the most powerful nation on earth is the only hope America has to escape the strangle hold that money and business has over politics.

  2. TheCurmudgen I stand corrected, although I very much suspect that Reagan learned on the job, rather than coming to governorship from a business or university educated background. Certainly his  presidency was not marked so far as I can remember, with any triumphs of business acumen, or political mastery.

  4. ***** I didn't forget them - ALL money in politics, all situations where companies have personhood, or the ability to bring unfair  influence to bear in the form of financial pressure - they ALL need to be out of politics. The one to do that is not to raise another billionaire through the ranks, but a person who recognises how broken the system is, and has an interest in fixing it for people like him or her.
