  1. Brett, you are mistaken - having an ON-PAPER tax loss of millions of dollars, yet owning billions of dollars of assets and living like an emperor is SUPERB business. Just look at Bezos or Musk - they don't get paid millions of dollars a year. They BORROW what they need and get paid little. Loans are not taxable. It enables them to avoid tax liability.

  2. There's not a person on the planet that does not try to minimise his or her taxes. Don't blame the player; blame the game. You receive a tax refund when you made a loss on previous years or there is a tax incentive scheme in operation. The issue is not that Trump can afford accountants to minimise his taxes, the issue is that they are able to. As he said when he was campaigning in 2015 - that makes him smart.

I despise Trump with a burning passion, but he IS right - avoiding paying taxes to a government that wastes them on senator salaries, wars, tax cuts to billionaires, subsidies to fossil companies, wages to adangerous police force, and more, is smart. More than that, it's the moral thing to do.
