Mercy is NOT by definition the suspension of justice. If you are killing me because you're a psycho, and I beg you for mercy and as a result you cease killing me, how has your mercy suspended justice? And that's without jumping down the rabbit hole of defining the meaning of justice and whether or not justice can be objective. If it cannot, then mercy is also subjective.
